Sunderland managed to secure all three points in their last outing against Bristol Rovers, which has taken their unbeaten run to 14 games in all competitions.
The Black Cats have been extremely impressive in recent times as they continue to chase down an automatic promotion place, with Barnsley and Luton Town now well within their sights.
Although, it appears as if Jack Ross is eyeing a possible summer move, as according to Teamtalk, Sunderland are interested in Hartlepool midfielder Josh Hawkes.
Indeed, the 20-year-old is enjoying a rich vein of form as he’s managed to score three goals in his last five games, which is rather impressive as he operates as an attacking midfielder.
However, it won’t be easy for the Black Cats to bring him to the Stadium of Light as there’re a number of teams chasing his signature, including the likes of Burnley, Newcastle United, Huddersfield Town, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Hull City and League One side Barnsley.
Josh Hawkes has plenty of potential and he’s already showing that he can have a huge impact on games for Hartlepool United, with five goals to his name in total.
The Black Cats already have the likes of George Honeyman and Chris Maguire who can operate in an attacking midfield role, but Hawkes is definitely one for the future.
