Sunderland will be desperate to move into the automatic promotion places in the near future, with promotion to the Championship being a must in the current campaign.
The Black Cats haven’t been at their best in recent times as they continue to drop points in games that they really should be winning, having drawn their last three Championship games.
Although, it appears as if Jack Ross is looking to bring in an attacker this month, as according to Sky Sports, Sunderland are keen on signing Erhun Oztumer from Bolton Wanderers.
Sunderland are keen on securing a deal for Oztumer before the close of the transfer window, but fellow League One side Charlton Athletic are also interested.
Indeed, the 27-year-old has previous experience in League One from his time at Walsall, where he scored 32 goals in 95 appearances, so he could be a valuable asset for Jack Ross.
Ross already has George Honeyman operating in the attacking midfield role at this moment in time, but Oztumer could still have a positive impact, as the type of player who can provide valuable contributions when needed.
Erhun Oztumer, who is valued at £675k (by Transfermarkt), hasn’t been able to work his way into Phil Parkinson’s plans in the current campaign, so a move away from the Macron Stadium makes sense this month.
The attacker could have a big impact on Sunderland’s promotion push, with his previous experience and ability to score goals providing them with a dangerous outlet in the final third.
