Sunderland are believed to be keen on bringing a new striker to the Stadium of Light this winter and a new name appears to have been linked with a move.
According to Dom Howson, who is a journalist for The Sheffield Star, Sam Winnall has emerged as a potential target for The Black Cats.
Understand Sunderland are interested in taking #SWFC centre-forward Sam Winnall on loan until the end of the season.
Steve Bruce said at his presser today that the Owls have too many strikers at the moment. Winnall could be on his way out.

The reporter also suggested that the club could have a great chance of landing him as Steve Bruce admitted he had too many strikers at Sheffield Wednesday.
The 28-year-old has been blighted with injuries so far, however, he has shown that he can be very prolific in front of goal.
During a loan spell with Derby Country last season, Winnall managed to net six goals before his season was ended through injury.
Winnall could be an excellent addition for a club like Sunderland as they look to win promotion back to the Championship.
The Black Cats lost Josh Maja earlier in the window and Jack Ross will be desperate to find someone that can fill the void the 20-year-old has left.
And with Bruce admitting he has too many strikers at Sheffield Wednesday, it appears the League One outfit could have a great chance to bring him to the Stadium of Light.
