Sunderland keeping tabs on Junior Mondal

Sunderland have already started to turn their attention to the January transfer window and are thought to have identified a winger.

According to a report by HITC Sport, the Black Cats are one of a number of clubs thought to be interested in Junior Mondal.

The winger, who is currently representing Whitby Town in the Evo-Stik Premier North division, has been earning rave reviews for his performances, which has led to a number of Football League clubs taking note.

And, one of those appears to be Jack Ross’ Sunderland, who are thought to be keen on adding to their attacking ranks.

The 21-year-old is a former graduate of Middlesbrough’s academy ranks and possess a huge amount of skill, however, injuries had hampered his development at the Riverside Stadium, which saw him released from his contract in the summer of 2017.

The Verdict:

Sunderland have been performing well so far this season in League One and currently sit in fourth place, having gone unbeaten so far.

However, it is understood Ross would still like to add some options to his side as they look to continue their challenge for promotion back to the Championship throughout the campaign.

Mondal has caught the eyes of a number of Football League clubs already with his showings for Whitby Town and the Black Cats will be hoping they can lure him to the Stadium of Light, should they make a move for him.
