Sunderland locked in talks with quick-fire Allardyce replacement

The Sunderland fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club are in advanced talks with a new manager.

According to a report in The Mirror the Black Cats have held preliminary talks with David Moyes to become the club’s new manager.

With current manager Sam Allardyce expected to be named the new England manager later today, the club’s owner Ellis Short has made the Scotsman his number one target to replace him.

It is thought that the former Manchester United and Everton manager is ready to step back into Premier League management after an unsuccessful spell in Spain with Real Sociedad, which ended with him being dismissed towards the tail end of last year.

The club are hopeful that Moyes will be the right man who has the right plans in place to ensure the club avoid yet another relegation battle come May, after a period of upheaval.
