Sunderland: Max Power’s comments on promotion get fans talking

Many Sunderland fans have reacted to a post shared by the club which revealed comments made by Max Power over his promotion hopes.
Life at the Stadium of Light over recent seasons has been well documented through Netflix series Sunderland ‘Til I Die, but fan hopes were on a promotion back to the Championship this season.
Having dropped down from the Premier League to League One in recent years, Black Cats fans have been on a rollercoaster ride to England’s third tier.
Sitting seventh in the League One table at present, it is now up in the air as to whether the Wearside club will gain a play-off place, with the return of football due to the recent pandemic very much up in the air.
Power, joined Sunderland in 2018 on an initial loan deal, before completing a permanent switch in last January. Having played in the League One play-off final last season and suffering defeat, he has recently opened up about his ambitions to gain promotion with the club in the future and suggested that they were in a good position to do so, which the club have now shared via their official Twitter account.
Reacting to the club’s official tweet, fans have responded and it would be fair to say that they are not happy…

That’s just not true about being in a good position. We’re in the worst position the club has ever been in its history. I really like Max Power but it’s just not true.

Unfortunately average points per game suggests otherwise

7th isn’t a good position especially having played a game extra .
