Sunderland receive timely boost ahead of latest Premier League tie

Our Sunderland fans are hoping for some good news at any point for the rest of this season and, as quoted by Sports Mole, David Moyes has appeared to deliver some.

The Black Cats have had another torrid season and are once again in line to battle relegation this year.

They’ve managed to save themselves the previous few years, though, but this time around it’s looking even bleaker than usual.

Without Jermain Defoe our landlord reckons they’d already be as good as gone so it’s lucky he’s stayed fit so far.

Another player who should be fit for the game against West Brom this weekend is Jack Rodwell as, according to Moyes, he is “okay” to travel with the squad.

The midfielder has had a pretty poor time with injuries throughout his career but this one has not been too serious with him picking up a knock against Stoke last time out.

His recovery will be welcome, then, as it really is all hands to the pump for the north east side at the moment.

Moyes said of the issue:

“Jack Rodwell should be okay.

“He had a slight problem with his knee but a scan revealed there was nothing there.”

A good boost for Sunderland, then, though our landlord can’t see them getting much out of West Brom this weekend.
