Sunderland scouting World Cup hopefuls in bid to boost squad

According to ChronicleLive.co.uk, Sunderland are scouting at Austria’s World Cup qualifiers in an attempt to find new players to help them out of the relegation zone with our resident Black Cats fans certainly hoping they can find some options.

The men from the Stadium of Light have really struggled this season and only won their first game of the season last time out against Bournemouth leaving them still two wins away from 17th placed West Ham.

Nevertheless, David Moyes will have been pleased with the fight he saw from his players at last as they won on the south coast and will now be looking to add to that spirit in January.

The report believes the Premier League outfit are looking at the likes of Aleksandar Dragovic and Florian Klein as options to help boost their defensive ranks.

The Austrians are currently fourth in Group D for the 2018 World Cup six points behind the Republic of Ireland at the top.

Meanwhile, Sunderland will be turning attentions to their domestic engagements this weekend as they host Hull City on Saturday.7
