Sunderland: Some supporters were happy to see fixture during international break postponed

It’s not often you see some supporters happy to see a game called off for international duty, yet Sunderland fans didn’t quite seem to get the memo.
Supporters are advised that the club’s upcoming trip to @Official_BRFC has been postponed due to international call-ups.#SAFChttps://t.co/Um6u6dMxkh

The Black Cats upcoming League One fixture against Bristol Rovers has been postponed, as announced on Sunderland’s official website, due to the club missing some players because of the November international break.
This international break will see Phil Parkinson’s side lose number one ‘keeper Jon McLaughlin to Scotland (per the Scottish FA’s official website), leaving the northeast side without a senior shot-stopper.
Can Duncan Watmore still come good after his injury hell?
Yes

No

With no senior ‘keeper to call upon for the fixture against Bristol Rovers, some Sunderland fans on social media were happy to see the game postponed despite it adding to the club’s already piled up fixture list for this year, with the Black Cats already pushing back games this season due to international breaks.
Here’s what some Sunderland fans had to say about their game against Bristol Rovers being postponed, with supporters happy that the fixture will not be played due to the lack of a senior goalkeeper…
Feel for those who had bought tickets and sorted travel, but it would have been madness to go ahead with the game without a recognised senior goalkeeper available.

Good decision on this occasion.

One keeper is away on international duty and the other is injured so unless we could get an emergancy loan for kyle walker i think its a very sensible decision

I’m gutted but not the club’s fault. Sensible given the circumstances.

Why are people annoyed? We have lost 1 GK and the other might not be fit. Makes sense to postpone it rather than having a 3rd choice kid in goal.

If Burge isn’t fit it’s the right decision if he is fit the game should have been played.

Sunderland fans, do you agree with the club postponing the match? Let us know!
