Sunderland have been busy making sure they are in a position to challenge for promotion back to the Championship.
The Black Cats were relegated last season to the League One, and with a new manager in charge with Jack Ross, they will feel fairly confident of their chances of heading back to the second-tier of English football.
The club have brought in a number of players to help with their plight, however, they are still keen to offload a number of men this summer as they look to reduce their wage bill.
One man that is expected to leave the Stadium of Light during the transfer window is Bryan Oviedo, however, it does not appear that he is any closer to making a departure.
A report by The Northern Echo has stated that Sunderland are yet to receive an acceptable offer for the Costa Rica international, despite there being a number of clubs showing an interest in the versatile man.
Sunderland are keen to reduce their wage bill and Oviedo would be one man that could be shifted to help ease the pressures they face.
However, with no one making an acceptable offer for the former Everton man, it could be a long summer at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats, could instead, consider keeping the 28-year-old full-back on Wearside as he would provide a huge amount of experience and would be a welcomed member of the squad as they push for Championship football once again.
