Sunderland could face a tough battle to keep hold of one of their emerging stars this season.
The striker has been in red-hot form for Jack Ross’ side this season, having already netted nine goals in 12 League One appearances for the Black Cats.
His goals have been important for the Stadium of Light’s efforts in trying to return to the Championship, especially with Charlie Wyke spending time on the sidelines.
The teenager’s present deal with the Wearside outfit is set to expire at the end of the season and Ross has admitted that the club is keen to tie him down to a long-term deal.
However, with some of England’s biggest club’s thought to be interested in him, there will be some concern that he could leave the Stadium of Light.
Maja has been a standout for Sunderland this season and has proven to be a key man for Ross’ side during the campaign.
With the absence of Wyke and Jerome Sinclair at times, the 19-year-old has grabbed his opportunity with both hands and showcased what he can do on the field when given the chance.
Sunderland will be desperate to get him to sign a new deal with the club, although the attraction of joining a Premier League side could be too much for the teenager to resist.
