Sunderland may still see some of their players leave the Stadium of Light this summer as the transfer window remains open across Europe.
The Dutch outfit are thought to have listed the shot-stopper as a possible target following Manchester City’s decision to recall Aro Muric following their own crisis.
Ruiter has not featured for the Black Cats since January, although that is largely down to a serious injury, however, he has not been chosen by Jack Ross just yet.
Jon McLaughlin has been named as the number one at the Stadium of Light this season and the Dutchman appears to be behind him in the pecking order for the time being.
Sunderland, otherwise, do not have many options in the goalkeeping department themselves, however, with Ruiter’s contract just having nine months left, they may be prepared to cash in on the £1.8million-rated ‘keeper (via Transfermarkt).
It remains to be seen if Ruiter will be allowed to leave Sunderland this summer as they do not have many options themselves when it comes to shot-stoppers.
Max Stryjek would be the next available option for Ross and it is not believed he would be ready to make the jump into senior football just yet.
However, with loans and free transfers still allowed to be made, the Black Cats may decide to let the Dutchman go, should Breda come in with an offer for him.
