Transfer twist in pipeline for Sunderland as club remains in limbo

Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their side to get signing some players in the summer window but it looks as though it’s not going to happen for some time.

Indeed, the Black Cats look well in limbo at the moment with them out of the Premier League, out of a manager and potentially the subject of a takeover.

For sure, then, there’s a lot to be resolved before players can be signed whilst the Jermain Defoe situation is also really starting to drag on.

Indeed, many had thought that he was off to Bournemouth after having a medical with the club but – as per The Daily Star – the men from the south coast are seriously mulling over whether to push on with the deal.

Indeed, they apparently have reservations over the cost it’s going to take on the 35-year-old striker and so we could end up with the newly returned England international staying with the Black Cats a little longer than expected.
