A season that once promised so much for Portsmouth may be about to get a whole lot worse for the Fratton Park outfit.
If fans thought their defeat to Sunderland in the play-offs was bad enough, well losing Jamal Lowe this summer would have to be considered disastrous.
And, it is extremely likely that he will not be on the south coast for too much longer either.
Championship outfits Leeds United, Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic are all thought to hold an interest in the talented 24-year-old who is thought to be valued at £2million, according to a report by Sky Sports.
And, with no second-tier football for Portsmouth to contest next season, it would be extremely difficult to see Kenny Jacket’s side keeping hold of their prized talent.
Lowe netted 15 goals and provided his team-mates with eight assists in League One this season and his potential absence will surely hit the club hard.
The winger is set to enter the final year of his contract, which will make it doubly tough for Pompey to keep hold of him, especially if a financial offer was tabled for his services.
Also, whether Portsmouth will be as strong as they were this campaign next season remains to be seen, so Lowe may feel the need to jump ship should the opportunity arise.
Portsmouth fans, what do you think the future holds for Lowe? Let us know your thoughts below!
