# Leeds: Andrea Radrizzani reacts to Sam Greenwood return

**Leeds United chairman and majority shareholder [Andrea Radrizzani](https://twitter.com/andrearadri/status/1498739163239124993) has been reacting to news of Sam Greenwood’s return from injury on Twitter.**

### The Lowdown: Greenwood back with a bang

Greenwood had been out of action since January after suffering a knee injury during his first senior start for the Whites against West Ham. The 20-year-old had to make way at half-time in the FA Cup clash and required [surgery](https://twitter.com/leedsutdacademy/status/1482052268308455427) five days later.

He has now made a full return though, scoring from the penalty spot for the Under-23s in a [1-1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzCaFLEIwKY) draw with Spurs at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening.

### The Latest: Radrizzani reacts

[Radrizzani](https://twitter.com/andrearadri/status/1498739163239124993) took to Twitter to reply to a post welcoming Greenwood back from injury.

The Whites chairman posted a flexed bicep emoji with the words ‘back scoring’ – seemingly delighted at the forward’s return.

### The Verdict: More game time?

New manager Jesse Marsch may well go with two strikers in a [4-2-2-2](https://www.leedsallover.com/2-current-leeds-united-players-that-stand-to-benefit-from-jesse-marschs-potential-4-2-2-2-system/) system compared to Marcelo Bielsa’s one in his [4-1-4-1](https://theathletic.com/2899346/2021/10/22/which-formation-suits-leeds-best-4-1-4-1-or-3-3-1-3/) formation, meaning Greenwood could be in line for more game time, especially with Patrick Bamford still out through injury.

Labelled as [‘very good’](https://www.arsenal.com/news/greenwood-was-very-good-he-worked-tirelessly) by Ken Gillard during his time at Arsenal, Greenwood has scored [21](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sam-greenwood/leistungsdaten/spieler/532178) times in [35](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sam-greenwood/leistungsdaten/spieler/532178) appearances for the Under-23s, so you’d expect he’ll be a player Marsch will want to have a good look at.

Fellow young striker Joe Gelhardt could also feature more regularly, with [Marsch](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/jesse-marschs-youth-philosophy-outlined-23260915) building up an excellent reputation for developing youngsters throughout his brief coaching career.
