# Leeds: Wilfried Gnonto impressing at Thorp Arch

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) teenager Wilfried Gnonto is even more electrifying in training and has been blown coaching staff away, according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-phenomenal-wilfried-gnonto-is-electrifying-leeds-united-coaches/).**

### The Lowdown: Impressive start

Gnonto was a late summer signing at Elland Road on deadline day after the club missed out on a number of other attacking targets. However, the 19-year-old has been a revelation for the Whites, contributing to [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-gnonto/leistungsdaten/spieler/627626) goals in [14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-gnonto/leistungsdaten/spieler/627626) games so far.

He became a regular under former manager Jesse Marsch and started both games against Manchester United under caretaker Michael Skubala, and he appears to be going from strength to strength in an exciting new update.

### The Latest: Behind-the-scenes update

[FI reporter Wayne Veysey](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-phenomenal-wilfried-gnonto-is-electrifying-leeds-united-coaches/) shared a story on Wednesday regarding what he’s heard on Gnonto.

He claimed that the Italian has been “phenomenal” behind the scenes and has blown staff away at Thorp Arch. Veysey added that Gnonto is even more electrifying in training than what he has shown on match days, implying there is more to come for the Elland Road faithful.

### The Verdict: Great signing

Leeds paid just [£3.8m](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11171507/Leeds-clinch-3-8m-deal-Wilfried-Gnonto-highly-rated-Italy-forward-signs-five-year-deal.html) for Gnonto, which in today’s market, appears to be a real bargain considering the impact he has already made.

He has been Leeds’ most fouled player this season, while also ranking highly for dribbles and key passes made per 90, as per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds).

Gnonto has even been the club’s fourth-best player for [average match rating](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds), outperforming the likes of Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra, so hopefully, he can continue to shine and help Leeds remain in the Premier League come May.
