# ‘Scandalous’ – Leeds fans fume at Phil Hay’s ‘disgraceful’ off-field update

**A number of [Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) supporters have hit out at the cub’s decision to increase season ticket prices for the 2023/24 campaign.**

### The Lowdown: 10% rise

[Phil Hay](https://twitter.com/PhilHay_/status/1632720716427657218) took to Twitter on Monday to relay an update from Elland Road regarding season ticket renewals.

He said that prices for general admission season tickets will increase by 10% for the 2023/24 season, however, that will be refunded should the Whites suffer relegation. There are thought to be just short of 22,000 fans on the waiting list, Hay added.

### The Latest: Fans not happy

This is what these Whites supporters had to say in reply to the update from Hay, with one describing it as ‘disgraceful’.

*“Disgraceful that when the board have acted the way they have and there’s already a cost of living crisis.”* – [@LUFC96Robbo](https://twitter.com/LUFC96Robbo/status/1632720865845555200)

*“Looks like they’re accepting the inevitable.”* – [@Daviddalton1967](https://twitter.com/Daviddalton1967/status/1632834448830914567)

*“Scandalous. Even if we stay up, events on the pitch haven’t even come close to justifying anything more than a price freeze. It’s a disgrace.”* – [@robdaws96](https://twitter.com/robdaws96/status/1632798059053608960)

*“so if we go down the prices will stay the same? what a joke”* – [@hamzalufc](https://twitter.com/hamzalufc/status/1632771064391520258)

*“Bold move. Idiots.”* – [@jenbarlufc](https://twitter.com/jenbarlufc/status/1632734894219558914)

### The Verdict: Relegation ‘impossible’

Javi Gracia has plenty of work to do if he is to guide Leeds to safety this season, with the Whites currently averaging less than a point a game.

Andrea Radrizzani looks silly after he [said](https://twitter.com/FootyAccums/status/1555452197609021440) in the summer that he sees relegation as ‘impossible’. It looks like a real possibility right now, and the club have even factored relegation into their prices by giving a 10% increase back should Leeds drop back down to the Championship.

You can see why fans are upset, though, especially after there was a 10% increase last year for the current campaign, with fans not exactly having much to shout about on the pitch following Marcelo Bielsa’s departure.
