# Leeds fans take to Twitter to beg for Bielsa stay after promotion meltdown

**It will be a tough few months for Leeds United fans after last night. The Whites came oh so close to promotion before the play-offs, losing out on a spot in the top two to Norwich and Sheffield United, and now the worst possible outcome has come to fruition. It’s all their own fault they’re not going up, but they’re now desperate for Marcelo Bielsa to stay.**

> Bielsa laying the blame at his door again. "I have to say that we had the conditions to finish first or second (in the table) and all the conditions to be the best team in the play-offs. When you can’t reach something that was reachable, it always puts doubt on the head coach."

The Argentine manager is one of the best in the business, and whilst he may have lost out to Daniel Farke, Chris Wilder and now Frank Lampard, his tactics and his man management have been superb this season. Even last night, when he could have thrown Gaetano Berardi, Liam Cooper, Kiko Casilla, Patrick Bamford or any of his players under the bus, he jumped on the grenade himself.

It isn’t the first time that Bielsa has shouldered the blame for his side’s failings this season and if he stays on at Elland Road then we will certainly see the veteran Argentine taking bullets for his players in the future. That is exactly what the Whites want to see, not so much Bielsa taking the blame for future losses, but Bielsa at the club, as even in the desolation of play-off heartbreak they can’t face the double blow of losing their inspirational manager.

You can read the Whites’ calls for Bielsa to stay here:

> More important than promotion, we keep bielsa.

Keeping Bielsa is the only thing on the minds of the Leeds fans right now, and they won’t be able to sleep at night until they know he’s going to be at Elland Road next season.
