# Leeds: Illan Meslier transfer update

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have placed a price tag in excess of £30m on goalkeeper [Illan Meslier](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/illan-meslier/), according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-leeds-slap-30m-price-tag-on-illan-meslier-amid-quit-claim/).**

### The Lowdown: Meslier one of three ‘planning to quit’

The Whites find themselves in the bottom three in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/), with relegation back to the Championship a serious possibility. That has already led to speculation regarding the futures of a number of first-team players ahead of the summer, including Meslier.

[Reports](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/leeds-premier-league-koch-meslier-harrison-transfer-news-updates/) have suggested that Meslier, Robin Koch and Jack Harrison are already ‘planning to quit’ and find a new club if the club drop to the second tier, and a further update on the Frenchman has emerged.

### The Latest: Transfer update

[Football Insider reporter Wayne Veysey](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-leeds-slap-30m-price-tag-on-illan-meslier-amid-quit-claim/) provided a further update on Meslier on Sunday morning following the update of the three players ‘planning to quit’.

He said that the Whites value the ‘keeper at over £30m as he is regarded as one of the club’s prize assets and is of interest to multiple Premier League clubs ahead of the summer.

### The Verdict: Big exit?

Meslier, who Phil Hay has previously hailed as being [‘top class’](https://www.teamtalk.com/leeds-united/illan-meslier-phil-hay-verdict-highest-value-asset-tottenham-plot-swoop), has been a regular in recent seasons, making [118](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/illan-meslier/leistungsdaten/spieler/542586) appearances in Yorkshire.

Still just 23 years of age, he already ranks [40th](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/saves) in the all-time Premier League saves list and is valued at a career-high €22m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/illan-meslier/profil/spieler/542586).

Therefore, it isn’t a surprise that Leeds see him as a prize asset and would command a big fee for his services if they are relegated, but everyone at Elland Road will be hoping the club aren’t forced into a sale, with Meslier under contract until [2026](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/illan-meslier/profil/spieler/542586).
