# Leeds United: Whites eyeing up move for Ismaila Sarr

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) are ‘courting’ Watford forward Ismaila Sarr as a replacement for Raphinha, according to [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/a1022163123016227088-leeds-vise-du-lourd-pour-remplacer-raphinha).**

### The Lowdown: Sarr profiled

Sarr, [labelled](https://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ben-foster-watford-ismaila-sarr-6681008) by Ben Foster as a “freak” of a talent with “scary” ability, has been with the Hornets since [2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/profil/spieler/410225).

Capable of playing [anywhere](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdaten/spieler/410225/plus/0?saison=ges) across the front three, the Senegal international has scored [57](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdaten/spieler/410225/plus/0?saison=ges) goals for club and country, [24](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdaten/spieler/410225/plus/0?saison=ges) of which have come for Watford.

The 24-year-old, previously of Rennes, is into the final [two years](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/profil/spieler/410225) of his Vicarage Road contract, and it looks as if Leeds may make a move in the final weeks of the window.

### The Latest: Leeds eyeing move

[Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/a1022163123016227088-leeds-vise-du-lourd-pour-remplacer-raphinha) provided a Leeds transfer update on Tuesday and were told that Sarr has been ‘courted’ by Victor Orta and Co.

They claim that Leeds are looking to replace Raphinha before the window closes, adding that PSV’s Cody Gakpo is still on their shortlist also.

Sarr apparently ‘could be tempted’ into leaving Vicarage Road.

### The Verdict: Really?

Leeds appear to have filled the void left by Raphinha by signing Luis Sinisterra, so it is interesting to see these rumours regarding Sarr.

\[freshpress-poll id=”404880″\]

He is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdaten/spieler/410225/plus/0?saison=ges) a right-winger but does have experience of playing as a centre-forward on [33](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdaten/spieler/410225/plus/0?saison=ges) occasions. Sarr has contributed to [15](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdaten/spieler/410225/plus/0?saison=ges) goals when occupying a central role, so perhaps his versatility is something of interest to Orta and Andrea Radrizzani.

It could well be one to watch, however, the club may well be better off looking to sign an out-and-out striker who can fill in out wide, instead of the other way around.
