# Leeds: Whites register interest in Josh Tymon

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have registered their interest in Stoke City defender Josh Tymon, according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-leeds-united-battle-rangers-and-norwich-city-in-josh-tymon-race/).**

### The Lowdown: Tymon profiled

Hailed as [‘quick’](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/football-news/michael-oneill-tymon-nottingham-forest-5817479) by his manager Michael O’Neill, Tymon is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-tymon/profil/spieler/419929) a left-back who can also play as a left-sided midfielder when required and has been with Stoke since 2017.

Formerly an [England under-20 international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-tymon/profil/spieler/419929), the 23-year-old has made [87](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-tymon/leistungsdaten/spieler/419929) senior appearances for the Potters, contributing to [eight](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-tymon/leistungsdaten/spieler/419929) goals.

Described as the [‘nutmeg king’](https://twitter.com/StatsBomb/status/1524015229415440385?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1524015229415440385%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Fjosh-tymon-rangers-target-wins-27150226) following 14 of them in the Championship last season, it looks as if Tymon could be on the move this summer, with a number of clubs interested in his services.

### The Latest: Source shares Tymon update

[Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-leeds-united-battle-rangers-and-norwich-city-in-josh-tymon-race/) shared a story regarding Tymon on Wednesday afternoon after being informed by a recruitment source.

They claimed that Leeds and Norwich City have both registered their interest in the full-back, joining Rangers in the race for his signature. The report adds that Stoke value Tymon at £6m and have been reluctant to sell.

### The Verdict: Needed?

It looks as if Jesse Marsch is going to give Junior Firpo another chance to impress at Elland Road next season, although the Spaniard is the only [senior](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/kader/verein/399) left-back available to the 48-year-old, so bringing in someone like Tymon could be a wise move.

The Whites have spent [£95m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/transfers/verein/399) so far this summer, although none of the six additions is a defender, even with Leeds conceding a whopping [79 goals in 38 league games](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=418&ha=-1) last season.

Charles De Ketelaere appears to be the club’s [final marquee target](https://www.teamtalk.com/leeds-united/charles-de-ketelaere-transfer-latest-giant-new-leeds-offer-brugge-signing-former-whites-target), although it looks as if an under-the-radar move for Tymon could be on the cards as well.
