# Leeds: Pundit says Kalvin Phillips could have his head turned by Liverpool

**Speaking to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/huge-exclusive-bruce-reacts-as-liverpool-set-reported-sights-on-175-app-leeds-star/), Alex Bruce has suggested Leeds talisman Kalvin Phillips could have his head turned by Liverpool.**

[Reports](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2887742-dean-jones-talks-neymar-jadon-sancho-ronaldo-timo-werner-more-in-br-ama) in recent days have suggested that the midfielder is a potential transfer target for the reigning Champions League holders this summer.

Phillips of course has spent his entire career at Elland Road, making an impressive [175 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kalvin-phillips/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/351749) across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing ten assists.

Despite the Whites being on course for a return to the Premier League themselves, Bruce has claimed that Liverpool may have the kind of pulling power that would be difficult for Phillips to turn down.

He [said](https://www.footballinsider247.com/huge-exclusive-bruce-reacts-as-liverpool-set-reported-sights-on-175-app-leeds-star/): “I think there’s no reason why he wouldn’t, why doesn’t everybody deserve the opportunity? He’s got great potential, he’s an excellent player, I think he would take some prising away from Leeds because Leeds in the Premier League, he’s a Leeds lad, everybody can see he’s got a huge, huge rapport with the supporters.

“However, when a club like Liverpool comes in, if they are in for him, then obviously that would turn anyone’s head. I don’t see any reason why that would be nonsense because he’s a very good player, he’s young, the right age and has got huge potential.”

Whilst there’s definitely an argument to make that Phillips stands a far better chance of lifting major trophies at Liverpool, just how big of a role would he actually play in them actually winning them?

The Reds boast multi-million pound talents in the midfield area, and it’s difficult to see how he would be a regular starter for them, week-in and week-out.

At Leeds, he’s a homegrown hero, and will surely want to play a major part as they look to get back to the top-flight once more. The grass isn’t always greener, and in Phillips’ case, even a team like Liverpool shouldn’t take his eyes away from Elland Road.
