# Leeds: Journalist shares news of further kit delay

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have been dealt another kit crisis blow after shipping containers plunged into the sea on their way to England.**

### The Lowdown: Kit announcements

Supporters got to see the club’s new home shirt worn competitively for the first time on Saturday as Jesse Marsch’s side began the new [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) campaign with a 2-1 win over Wolves.

However, no fans in attendance could get hold of a home shirt before kick-off, with stock not available until [late August](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30079/leeds-united-and-adidas-release-the-2022-23-home-kit). There was [limited stock](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/club/30169/leeds-united-and-adidas-unveil-22-23-away-kit) last week for the new away jersey, and it looks as if Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers Enterprises have been dealt another kit supply blow.

### The Latest: Kit update

[MOT Leeds News](https://motleedsnews.com/news/leeds-united-kit-crisis-continues-as-shipping-containers-plunge-into-sea/) relayed an update from The Daily Mail’s [Mike Keegan](https://twitter.com/mikekeegan_dm), who shared news of another blow for fans wanting to get their hands on a new Leeds shirt.

He stated in Monday’s print edition of the newspaper that after an initial hold up due to a Covid outbreak in Singapore, the delivery of new Leeds shirts have been delayed after shipping containers which were used to bring them to England plunged into the sea.

### The Verdict: Not ideal

It isn’t just Leeds who have been suffering when it comes to kit sales, with a [number of English clubs](https://theathletic.com/3436798/2022/07/23/why-some-teams-wont-have-their-kits-in-time-for-the-new-season/) having their own issues.

Many fans will be eager to get their hands on new club attire, while Leeds will also want to be in a position to sell after making close to [£20m](https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-saluted-by-maguire-after-outstanding-25m-reveal/) in merchandise sales during their first season back in the top flight two years ago.

Hopefully the club are still on track for a late August release of the new home kit despite this latest bizarre update and can once again sell close to [300,000 shirts](https://motleedsnews.com/news/leeds-united-kit-crisis-continues-as-shipping-containers-plunge-into-sea/).
