# Leeds: Liverpool interested in signing Raphinha this summer

**Liverpool are among a host of clubs interested in signing Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.**

### The Lowdown: Raphinha returns to form for Leeds

The Whites picked up a massive 2-1 win at home to Norwich City on Sunday afternoon, with Joe Gelhardt netting the winner in stoppage time.

It was Raphinha who set up the goal and the Brazilian was [back to his best](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/300447/MatchStatistics/Raphinha) at Elland Road, [twice hitting the crossbar](https://www.sofascore.com/leeds-united-norwich-city/Jnf) and looking a threat throughout.

However, the winger has been [linked](https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2022/02/raphinha-transfer-news-chelsea-lead-barcelona-leeds-winger-could-go-25m) with an exit from Leeds in recent months, and a fresh update has now emerged in that regard.

### The Latest: Liverpool keen on move for Raphinha

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1503303443859054592?s=20&t=PEei2j6WgyJYbFkQo9JwhQ) on Monday, Romano claimed that Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Raphinha this summer, along with some other elite clubs.

The journalist reported: “Barcelona are interested in Raphinha alongside Premier League clubs, including Liverpool \[Chelsea wanted him, now in stand-by\]. Barça already discussed about Raphinha with Deco. No talks yet with Leeds – as price depends on their PL future and potential buy out clauses.”

### The Verdict: Summer exit seems likely

In truth, there seems to be a certain inevitability about Raphinha moving on at the end of the season, especially if Leeds are relegated to the Championship.

The 25-year-old will surely have lofty ambitions in his career as he looks to become a fixture in Brazil’s team ahead of the World Cup, having been [given his debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/nationalmannschaft/spieler/411295/verein_id/3439) last October, so a summer move could appeal to him.

Liverpool could be a tailor-made club for Raphinha to join, particularly if Mohamed Salah ends up moving on amid [doubts](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/mar/11/liverpool-contract-talks-with-mohamed-salah-stall-over-wages#:~:text=Liverpool's%20contract%20talks%20with%20Mohamed,have%20been%20held%20since%20December) over his future at Anfield, with Rio Ferdinand [calling](https://motleedsnews.com/matchday/rio-ferdinand-blown-away-by-phenomenal-raphinha-stats-at-leeds-united/) the Leeds star ‘phenomenal’ in the past.
