# Leeds: New Robin Koch contract ‘in pipeline’

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) centre-back Robin Koch could be the next to receive a contract extension, according to [Phil Hay](https://twitter.com/PhilHay_/status/1608380404901224448).**

### The Lowdown: Struijk and Llorente

The Whites have been busy in recent weeks in regards to new deals for defenders, with Pascal Struijk the first to extend his stay in Yorkshire.

The 23-year-old, who has featured at [left-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pascal-struijk/leistungsdaten/spieler/410708) during the current campaign, put pen to paper on a new deal through to [2027](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30748/pascal-struijk-signs-new-contract). Diego Llorente was the next to sign an extension through to [2026](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30756/diego-llorente-signs-new-deal#:~:text=Leeds%20United%20are%20pleased%20to,until%20the%20summer%20of%202026.) shortly after, and it seems as if Koch could follow suit.

### The Latest: Koch next?

[Hay](https://twitter.com/PhilHay_/status/1608380404901224448) took to Twitter on Thursday, sharing a story for [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/4039988/2022/12/29/leeds-united-defence-transfers/) regarding Leeds’ defence.

The reliable reporter cited deals for Struijk and Llorente and said that one for Koch is ‘in the pipeline too’.

### The Verdict: Makes sense?

Koch is entering the final 18 months of his [current contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robin-koch/profil/spieler/328784) and has been a regular under [Jesse Marsch](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/jesse-marsch/) this season, who has [praised](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/robin-koch-leeds-united-challenge-25241181) the player in recent months, so a new deal appears to make sense.

\[freshpress-quiz id=”418869″\]

He’s [started](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robin-koch/leistungsdaten/spieler/328784) every [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) game so far and is valued at a career-high €18m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robin-koch/profil/spieler/328784). The German has also shown his [versatility](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robin-koch/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/328784/verein/399) by turning out as a holding midfielder during his stay at Elland Road, so hopefully, he can follow in the footsteps of Struijk and Llorente.
