# Leeds: Whites keen on Rasmus Kristensen

**[The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3340078/2022/05/31/leeds-transfer-news-kristensen/?source=ukdailyemail&campaign=711528)‘s [Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) correspondent Phil Hay has revealed that the Whites are tracking RB Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen.**

### The Lowdown: Kristensen profiled

The 24-year-old Denmark international [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/profil/spieler/369684) plays at right-back but can also operate as a [right midfielder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/profil/spieler/369684) and is valued at a career-high £13.5m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/marktwertverlauf/spieler/369684).

Described as a [‘goal threat’](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-united-picture-signing-right-back-goal-threat-e13m-market-value/) by Salzburg boss Matthias Jaissle, Kristensen has made [107](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/leistungsdaten/spieler/369684) appearances for the club, scoring [13](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/leistungsdaten/spieler/369684) times and registering [19](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/leistungsdaten/spieler/369684) assists. Jesse Marsch signed Kristensen from Ajax while in charge of the Austrian champions in [2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/transfers/spieler/369684), and it looks as if a reunion could be on the cards at Elland Road.

### The Latest: Leeds links

Hay shared a story for [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3340078/2022/05/31/leeds-transfer-news-kristensen/?source=ukdailyemail&campaign=711528) early on Tuesday morning, looking at Victor Orta’s transfer plans at Leeds after signing Brenden Aaronson.

The reliable journalist revealed that the Whites have been following Kristensen, who is expected to leave Salzburg ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. Borussia Dortmund and Brentford have also been linked with the full-back, who would cost around £10m.

### The Verdict: Get it done

Kristensen appears to be an exciting target who Marsch knows extremely well. He turned out on [64](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/369684) occasions for Salzburg under the Leeds head coach, scoring [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/369684) times and providing [11](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/369684) assists.

The right-back won consecutive [league and cup doubles](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/erfolge/spieler/369684) in Austria under the 48-year-old and could duly be the ideal man to come in, especially with [Luke Ayling](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/29927/luke-ayling-undergoes-surgery) and [Stuart Dallas](https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/international/stuart-dallas-set-to-be-out-for-up-to-six-months-as-leeds-boss-jesse-marsch-confirms-surgery-was-a-success-41621365.html) out injured for several months.

Kristensen will also be able to play further forward as a right midfielder if required, and a £10m fee in today’s market (£3.5m less than his [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rasmus-kristensen/profil/spieler/369684) valuation) appears to be a bargain for such a player.
