# Leeds: Alex Scott linked with Whites

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) are among a number of clubs who are thought to be interested in signing Bristol City youngster Alex Scott, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.**

### The Lowdown: Scott shining for Bristol City

At just 19, Scott is already making a name for himself in the [Championship](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/championship-news/), making an impressive [25 starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/410998/Show/Alex-Scott) in the division this term and missing only [one match](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdaten/spieler/855256) in the campaign up to this point.

The Englishman has [five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdaten/spieler/855256) to his name from midfield, highlighting his creativity, and has been described as an ‘[exceptional](https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/bristol-city/bristol-city-must-manage-expectations-of-alex-scott-after-season-that-attracted-interest-from-leeds-spurs-3746517)‘ player by his manager Nigel Pearson.

Scott’s current deal at Ashton Gate runs until the summer of [2025](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/profil/spieler/855256), but the Robins will do very well to keep him at the club until that point.

### The Latest: Leeds in the race for Scott

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JacobsBen/status/1610953861941846017?s=20&t=jA4Zo3dAt88eXtJ9UaE92g), Jacobs confirmed Leeds’ interest in signing the teenager, although they are far from alone in tracking him.

The CBS Sports journalist tweeted:

### The Verdict: One for the future

It is always vital to have a nucleus of homegrown young quality at any club, and Scott could be a fantastic prospective signing for Leeds if they can get a deal over the line this month or in the summer.

He is already a vital player for Bristol City in a tough division, and his match averages of [2.4 tackles](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/410998/Show/Alex-Scott) and one key pass per game this season suggest that he is effective both in and out of possession, with those figures hypothetically placing him among the [top six for both metrics](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds) at Elland Road.

Scott has the potential to grow into a formidable player over time, and he could be a long-term successor to the [USA-bound](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiewNDi3LL8AhVIQUEAHbZFB00QFnoECBUQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftheathletic.com%2F4058432%2F2023%2F01%2F04%2Fmateusz-klich-leeds-dc-united-transfer%2F&usg=AOvVaw1SK_hNPdvebKo9ShK0BBCA) Mateusz Klich in Leeds’ midfield.
