# Leeds: Whites backed to make move for Ange Postecoglou

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) would consider making an approach for Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou if they sack Jesse Marsch, according to journalist Dean Jones.**

### The Lowdown: Marsch still under pressure

The Whites may have won 2-1 away to Liverpool in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) last weekend but it still seems that Marsch is [under pressure](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwi1rKOqkYr7AhXWSkEAHWulDU8QFnoECBwQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.express.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2F1688611%2FLeeds-board-Jesse-Marsch-sack-view-replacements-premier-league-news&usg=AOvVaw2eQoZJhmjUUeIAcE0S92qE) in Yorkshire.

Not even that result could stave off [reports](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/leeds-premier-league-jesse-marsch-liverpool-transfer-news-updates/) that the American is on borrowed time at Elland Road, a feeling which would only grow if the Whites fail to follow up that result with a win over Bournemouth this afternoon.

Indeed, Jones has suggested that Leeds could be looking north of the border for a new manager if they decide to part with the 48-year-old.

### The Latest: Postecoglou move could be lined up

Speaking to [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88078996-leeds-united-latest-news-jesse-marsch-replacement), Jones said that Postecoglou is a possible contender to take over from Marsch at Elland Road if the latter is relieved of his duties.

The journalist said:

> “If they do have to change manager, it’ll be the names that get linked with all the other jobs at the moment, and Postecoglou, and people like that, will probably be in the frame too.”

### The Verdict: Could be a brilliant option

Postecoglou has done a superb job at Celtic, [winning](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ange-postecoglou/erfolge/trainer/11929) the Premiership title last season while also getting his hands on the Scottish League Cup and guiding the club back into the Champions League group stage.

Furthermore, the Australian has had the Hoops playing some [excellent football](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwi2m-Gy0JT7AhUNXsAKHasHDTIQFnoECCoQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Fceltics-beautiful-football-under-ange-27996337&usg=AOvVaw17jb35djCY8QwBpCbCqo86) along the way, not to mention quickly endearing himself to the Parkhead fan base for his [actions away from the pitch](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiIjLG50JT7AhXqQEEAHTNRD4wQFnoECCwQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.irishmirror.ie%2Fsport%2Fsoccer%2Fceltic-fan-receives-heartwarming-ange-25287265&usg=AOvVaw159b4xTgqUxAiEZMA6eVpq) as well as the on-field results.

Although Postecoglou hasn’t yet proven himself [in a major European league](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ange-postecoglou/leistungsdatenLigenNational/trainer/11929), he would be an intriguing option who could connect with Leeds’ fans in a manner not dissimilar to [Marcelo Bielsa](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjVrv_s0JT7AhXsSkEAHZT6Bi8QFnoECB8QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fsoccer%2Fblog-the-toe-poke%2Fstory%2F4608057%2Fleeds-uniteds-love-of-marcelo-bielsa-a-hug-from-grandada-renamed-pub-and-thousands-of-tributes&usg=AOvVaw0_AYPbtVis7sOuT-_UoBYs) in terms of his [down-to-earth nature](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiIjLG50JT7AhXqQEEAHTNRD4wQFnoECCwQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.irishmirror.ie%2Fsport%2Fsoccer%2Fceltic-fan-receives-heartwarming-ange-25287265&usg=AOvVaw159b4xTgqUxAiEZMA6eVpq).
