# Leeds: Whites don’t want to ‘entertain’ Illan Meslier bids

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have no plans to ‘entertain’ any offers for goalkeeper [Illan Meslier](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/illan-meslier/) at the end of this season, according to [transfer expert Dean Jones](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesSoccer).**

### The Lowdown: Meslier a key man for Leeds

The Frenchman has been one of the Whites’ standout players in recent years, performing with [great consistency](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/380580/History/Illan-Meslier) despite still only being 22 years of age.

Meslier has now made [106 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/illan-meslier/alletore/spieler/542586) for Leeds overall, and while he is [contracted](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/illan-meslier/profil/spieler/542586) to the club until 2026, he has been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/leeds-chelsea-illan-meslier-transfer-interest/) with a move away recently.

Now, a new update has emerged regarding the future of the Whites hero.

### The Latest: Summer exit unlikely

Speaking to [*Give Me Sport*](https://www.givemesport.com/88101532-leeds-united-bids-elland-road-transfer-news-chelsea), Jones claimed that Leeds have no intention of accepting any bid for Meslier this summer:

> “Depends how the season plays out, really. I mean, ideally, no. They won’t want to entertain any bids for Meslier because he’ll be difficult to replace, mainly.”

### The Verdict: Will he want to stay?

Losing Meslier would be a massive blow, considering his current and long-term worth, with the youngster [described](https://motleedsnews.com/news/micah-richards-singles-out-illan-meslier-for-praise-in-leeds-loss-v-west-ham/) as an ‘excellent’ player by Micah Richards.

It is clear that Leeds won’t consider allowing him to leave, but the only potential issue is if the player himself decides to want a new challenge at a more successful club.

Keeping hold of an unhappy individual can be problematic, but the hope is that Meslier is content at Elland Road moving forward, with [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) survival absolutely vital to that.
