# Leeds: Jesse Marsch expected to be sacked despite Anfield win

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) manager Jesse Marsch is still expected to be sacked in the coming weeks despite the weekend win over Liverpool, according to one report.**

### The Lowdown: Huge win for Marsch

The Whites picked up their most important [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) victory of the season so far on Saturday night, winning 2-1 at Anfield in dramatic fashion.

Crysencio Summerville’s late strike earned Leeds all three points in what was a massive result for Marsch, who has [reportedly](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwi1rKOqkYr7AhXWSkEAHWulDU8QFnoECBwQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.express.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2F1688611%2FLeeds-board-Jesse-Marsch-sack-view-replacements-premier-league-news&usg=AOvVaw2eQoZJhmjUUeIAcE0S92qE) been clinging to his job recently.

Unfortunately for Marsch, though, it seems as though his current situation may not have changed, even despite that statement victory.

### The Latest: Sacking still on the cards

According to page 77 of [The Sunday Mirror](https://www.pressreader.com/uk/sunday-mirror/20221030) \[30 October, via [MOT Leeds News](https://motleedsnews.com/news/new-jesse-marsch-sack-development-emerges-matter-of-time-before-leeds-united-board-get-rid/)\], it is still ‘only a matter of time’ until the American is relieved of his duties as Leeds boss.

It is stated that many supporters don’t want Marsch to carry on as manager, despite such a memorable win at Anfield.

### The Verdict: Point of no return

Sadly for Marsch, it does feel as though there is little he can do about keeping his job now unless he manages to produce a remarkable run of form from nowhere.

The next bad result could well result in his sacking and it could be that Leeds want to bring in a new boss by the time the World Cup gets underway next month, so that they would have a few weeks to work with players behind the scenes while club football takes a breather during the tournament.

When a large and vocal element of the fan base turns on a manager, that is a big problem, and it doesn’t look as though the swell of negativity towards Marsch will be changing any time soon if even inflicting Liverpool’s first league defeat at Anfield [in 30 games](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpool-can-achieve-unbeaten-anfield-milestone-against-leeds) can’t win over the doubters.
