# Leeds: Riqui Puig involved in furious Koeman row

**Leeds United transfer target Riqui Puig has been involved in a furious row with Ronald Koeman at Barcelona [according to El Pais](https://elpais.com/deportes/2020-12-12/el-barca-se-descose.html).**

### **Puig in heated Koeman row**

The Whites have been [linked](https://www.sport.es/en/news/barca/koeman-riqui-puig-has-to-play-and-he-wont-get-many-minutes-here-8119926) with a move for the Barcelona youngster, with it even being reported that the La Liga outfit see Elland Road as a perfect destination in the short-term for the 21-year-old.

Now, it has been revealed that Koeman has given Puig a dressing down in front of the whole Barca dressing room, even accusing the Spain U21 international of leaking information to the press.

### **Boost for Leeds**

In Leeds’ pursuit of Puig, this can only be good news. It cannot be good for the team to have such a bad relationship in the dressing room, and this is no small accusation. Koeman is effectively saying that Puig cannot be trusted – it is surely untenable for him to remain at the club, at least in the short-term.

The player himself looks to have a bright future. Previously [compared](https://tribuna.com/en/fcbarcelona/news/2020-01-21-fabregas-backs-puig-to-reach-iniesta-level-and-even-predicts-when-it-may-happen/) to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, he has been an up-and-coming talent for quite a while – Gennaro Gattuso called him [“spectacular”](https://tribuna.com/en/fcbarcelona/news/2020-08-03-gennaro-gattuso-on-puig-in-2018-riqui-is-spectacular/) way back in 2018. Leeds can therefore take advantage of this situation to obtain a top talent, even if it is just on a temporary basis.
