### The Lowdown: Busy summer

The Whites have been proactive this summer both on and off the pitch, with [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/transfers/verein/399) new first-team players brought in so far.

[Rene Maric](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30149/rene-mari-named-assistant-head-coach) has joined as Jesse Marsch’s assistant, [Ewan Sharp and Pierre Barrieu](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30056/duo-join-backroom-staff) have arrived as first-team staff additions and [Michael Skubala](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/academy/30143/michael-skubala-appointed-under-21s-head-coach) has taken over as under-21 head coach.

Skubala will work with academy signings [Darko Gyabi](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30027/darko-gyabi-completes-leeds-united-transfer) and [Sonny Perkins](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30111/sonny-perkins-signs-for-leeds-united), and it looks as if another youth addition has been made by Elland Road officials.

### The Latest: Leeds move for Crew

According to [LUFC Youth](https://twitter.com/leedsutdacademy/status/1559619769619341313) on Twitter, the Whites have brought in 16-year-old Crew on a two-year scholarship deal.

### The Verdict: Exciting signing

Crew is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a [centre-back](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hugely-talented-cardiff-city-kids-22177936) and was labelled as a ‘real standout’ player at his age level by [Wales Online](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hugely-talented-cardiff-city-kids-22177936).

He has been [described](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hugely-talented-cardiff-city-kids-22177936) as a player with an excellent range of passing and is technically unrivalled with the ball at his feet, so it looks as if Leeds may have landed a future star.

Hopefully the Wales youth international can continue to develop in Yorkshire and can earn a professional deal in 2024.
