# Leeds: Whites name-checked in Danny Ings update

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have been name-checked by [Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/skysportsnews/status/1536308939058556932?s=21&t=ln6EWr-4AdlRpQrb40FFlw) as they provided a transfer update on striker Danny Ings, but it’s not the news fans may have been hoping for.**

### The Lowdown: Attacking reinforcements on the agenda

The Whites have already made two summer signings in Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen and appear to be [closing in](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/leeds-phil-hay-marc-roca-transfer-move-update/) on third with a move for Marc Roca.

Summer business shouldn’t stop there, though, with a new centre-forward also on the agenda at Elland Road. [Phil Hay](https://motleedsnews.com/news/phil-hay-leeds-united-looking-at-premier-league-centre-forward-this-summer/) previously stated that the club are looking to bring in a striker with Premier League experience, something which Ings has plenty of.

### The Latest: Ings update

[Reports](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-aston-villa-want-to-sign-a-list-striker-and-willing-to-sell-danny-ings-to-part-fund-deal/) had suggested that Aston Villa were open to moving Ings on this summer, but [Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/skysportsnews/status/1536308939058556932?s=21&t=ln6EWr-4AdlRpQrb40FFlw) have now shared a contrasting report.

They provided a live TV update regarding the 29-year-old, saying there have been reports of a ‘possible move’ to Leeds, but ‘Sky Sports has been told’ that Villa have ‘no intention’ of selling the striker.

### The Verdict: Needed

Patrick Bamford only managed to start [seven](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/leistungsdaten/spieler/183334) Premier League games last season due to a number of different injuries, so it’s clear to see that Jesse Marsch could do with another experienced forward.

Ings, who has scored [113](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danny-ings/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/134294) club goals during his career, could have been a smart move, and Leeds may have been keen, but it doesn’t look as if they have a chance after this latest update.

It’ll be interesting to see whether or not they still go for an attacker with Premier League experience, especially with links to New York City’s [Valentin Castellanos](https://www.90min.com/posts/valentin-castellanos-transfer-nycfc-asking-price-not-met-amid-leeds-interest) not going away.
