Leeds United are looking at manager targets that haven’t yet been picked up by the media, according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.
The Lowdown: Several setbacks
Leeds parted ways with Jesse Marsch on Monday, with owner Andrea Radrizzani hoping to have his replacement finalised by Wednesday morning.
As we know, that is yet to materialise, with Raul, Carlos Corberan, Andoni Iraola and Marcelo Gallardo all turning down moves to Elland Road.
Feyenoord’s Arne Slot appears to be the next target for the Whites, although Thornton believes there are alternatives that haven’t emerged just yet.
The Latest: Thornton’s comments
Thornton, talking to GiveMeSport regarding Leeds’ continued search for a new manager, said that the club, and by extension Andrea Radrizzani and Paraag Marathe, who have the key say when it comes to managerial decisions, are looking at managers ‘that aren’t in the media yet’.
“There are also other names Leeds are looking at that aren’t in the media yet.”
The Verdict: Interesting…
Radrizzani and co may well be getting frustrated at the lack of movement in regards to a new manager, especially with the return fixture with Manchester United fast approaching, but this claim from Thornton is certainly an interesting one.
The Leeds owner likes to take to Twitter to update supporters, as shown in recent days, but it looks as if at least one target is being kept secret in Yorkshire.
An interim manager has been discussed by the Elland Road hierarchy, should they fail to land one of their top targets, so it’ll be intriguing to see who Leeds bring in over the coming weeks.
