# Leeds: Whites linked with Armando Broja

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) are thought to be keen on signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja this summer, acceding to [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/west-ham-ready-to-move-for-chelsea-striker-armando-broja).**

### The Lowdown: Broja’s Southampton loan

The Albanian is under contract at Stamford Bridge until [2026](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/profil/spieler/571743) and enjoyed a relatively successful loan spell with Southampton last season.

Hailed as [‘dangerous’](https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/59843062) by Ralph Hasenhuttl, and a player with [‘incredible pace and strength’](https://twitter.com/Blue_Footy/status/1526649241267064832) by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, Broja [contributed to 10 goals in 38 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/leistungsdaten/spieler/571743) for the Saints.

The 20-year-old’s [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/marktwertverlauf/spieler/571743) valuation has risen to a career-high £19.8m as a result, and it looks as if he is now of interest to Leeds.

### The Latest: Leeds keen on Broja

[90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/west-ham-ready-to-move-for-chelsea-striker-armando-broja) provided an update regarding Broja’s future on Tuesday. They claimed that West Ham, Leeds, Everton and Wolves are all keen on the forward’s signature.

The Albania international would cost in excess of £30m, which would be a [club-record outlay](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/transferrekorde/verein/399) for Leeds, although the report added that the Hammers hold an advantage due to being able to offer European football at the London Stadium.

### The Verdict: Go for Kalimuendo instead?

While Broja certainly has talent, breaking a [club record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/transferrekorde/verein/399) transfer fee for the second time this summer after Brenden Aaronson could be a gamble by Elland Road chiefs. The youngster netted just [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/leistungsdaten/spieler/571743) Premier League goals in [32](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/leistungsdaten/spieler/571743) games last season (four of those before January), one of which came against the Whites.

Victor Orta could be better off spending less on Paris Saint-Germain forward [Arnaud Kalimuendo](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-transfer-news-arnaud-kalimuendo-b2102415.html), who is the same age as Broja and enjoyed a better season in front of goal with Lens in Ligue 1, netting [12 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arnaud-kalimuendo/leistungsdaten/spieler/585959) in the top flight.

Kalimuendo can also occupy roles on the [wing or as a second striker](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arnaud-kalimuendo/profil/spieler/585959), so Leeds could get better value for money by shopping abroad, as they have done so far this summer.
