# Newcastle United: Keith Downie says PIF could ‘revisit’ Jack Harrison deal

**Sky Sports journalist and North East reporter Keith Downie reports that [Newcastle United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/) could ‘revisit’ a deal for Jack Harrison.**

### The Lowdown: Offer rejected

It was [reported](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-transfer-news-magpies-have-made-jack-harrison-offer-leeds-united/) earlier this week that Leeds United has rejected an offer worth around £33.5m from the St. James’ Park outfit for Harrison.

They are thought to want about £39.4m for the winger, but could be reluctant to sell given that they have already sold Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City and Raphinha to FC Barcelona in this window.

### The Latest: Downie update

Speaking on [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/11095/12476234/transfer-centre-live?postid=4255923#liveblog-body), Downie revealed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Public Investment Fund (PIF) could ‘revisit’ a deal for Harrison, after being rebuffed by the Whites:

*“Jack Harrison is another one. It’s my understanding Newcastle were interested but was something Leeds did not want to entertain at all. That might be one they try to revisit.”*

### The Verdict: Exciting

It seems as if both clubs are not too far apart in their valuations of the player, so this is a deal that the Magpies should be looking to get done as soon as possible.

Harrison chipped in with a handy ten goals and supplied a further two assists in total over all competitions last term ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-harrison/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/417346/plus/0?saison=2021&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)), as he helped Jesse Marsch’s side avoid relegation down to the Championship, including scoring an [injury-time winner](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61453546) away at Brentford on the final day.

He would give Eddie Howe another great option in attack, and of course the Toon would be weakening a fellow top-flight rival in the process.
