# Leeds: Jermaine Beckford urges Kalvin Phillips’ team-mates not to let him leave

**Former [Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) striker Jermaine Beckford says he has told the Whites’ current players ‘not to let’ Kalvin Phillips leave the club this summer.**

### The lowdown

Beckford made more appearances for Leeds between 2006 and 2010 (151) than he did for [any other club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jermaine-beckford/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/38874)in his professional career. Speaking to the Sunday Express, as quoted by [MOT Leeds News](https://motleedsnews.com/transfers/sky-sports-pundit-shares-conversation-with-leeds-united-players-about-kalvin-phillips-transfer-situation/), Beckford said he had urged Leeds players to do whatever they could to persuade Phillips to stay put.

He revealed: “As it stands, I’ve spoken to one or two other lads and told them not to let Kalvin go, and to handcuff to the crossbar if they have to!”
