# Leeds United: Ezgjan Alioski enters negotiations over a new contract

**Ezgjan Alioski is one of many Leeds players who has adapted impressively to the Premier League and it seems like he will be [rewarded](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-phillips-drools-as-leeds-plan-contract-talks-with-brilliant-28-yr-old/) with a new contract.**

### Phil Hay provides Alioski update

Journalist for The Athletic, Phil Hay, [revealed:](https://twitter.com/PhilHay_/status/1330424344116387842?s=20) “A tough year globally has been a spectacular one for Gjanni Alioski – promotion with Leeds United and international achievement with North Macedonia. All of this came from very humble beginnings. And he has now entered talks about a new contract at Leeds.”

### This is good news for Leeds

The 28-year-old midfielder has played 140 times for Leeds ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezgjan-alioski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/129604)) and has scored 20 goals as well as assisting another 16. He is very versatile and can always be called upon to fill in at full-back.

Three of his six appearances this year have been from the bench but he has still managed to average 1.2 tackles per game ([SofaScore).](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ezgjan-alioski/137060)

The player has received a lot of praise in the past, as Kevin Phillips [said](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-phillips-drools-as-leeds-plan-contract-talks-with-brilliant-28-yr-old/): “From what I gather, his attitude is good and every club needs a player like that. He is a player who can unlock the door and he has a brilliant work rate.”

With fixtures coming thick and fast, the player signing a new deal before the January transfer window will be great news as he could have left on a pre-contract agreement due to his current deal [expiring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezgjan-alioski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/129604) next summer.

With the praise he receives and the dedication he has put in for the club, there is no doubt that he deserves a deal and hopefully it will get sorted sooner rather than later.
