# Leeds: Fabrizio Romano drops Rodrigo De Paul latest

**Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Leeds United will have to pay €40m (£36m) to sign Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese – any lower offer will see him remain in Italy.**

### **Romano drops De Paul update**

Leeds have been [linked](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1300036011674697728?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1300036011674697728%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fmundoalbiceleste.com%2F2020%2F08%2F30%2Fleeds-united-interested-in-rodrigo-de-paul-of-udinese%2F) with a move for the Argentine since last summer, but he remains with Udinese.

Transfer expert Romano was asked by [Give Me Sport](https://www.givemesport.com/1636187-messi-salah-mbappe-and-more-fabrizio-romano-provides-updates-in-exclusive-interview) how the Whites could acquire the 26-year-old. He first said that Leeds “won’t spend like €35m to €40 million” for such a player, and then added:

> *“De Paul is €40 million or nothing so I think it’s really really difficult.”*

He was then further pressed, and was asked whether a loan would be possible. He said:

> *“No, no, no, no impossible. Udinese won’t sell him on loan.”*

### **Price too high**

It is certainly easy to see why Leeds would be interested in de Paul. [According to Noel Whelan,](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-leeds-tipped-to-sign-rodrigo-de-paul-after-his-twitter-update/) he is “marked” by Marcelo Bielsa, and the latter is desperate to take him to Elland Road – as an Argentine himself, he will know all about his compatriot. With 2.5 key passes, 2.5 shots and 3.3 dribbles per game ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/125547/History/Rodrigo-de-Paul)), the former Valencia man is someone who likes to make things happen.

He has a respectable record at Udinese, scoring [28](https://www.transfermarkt.com/rodrigo-de-paul/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/255901) goals and providing 28 assists in 163 matches, but at roughly £36m his price now seems out of the Yorkshire club’s range, per Romano.
