# Leeds United: Fan laud Patrick Bamford after his performance against Cardiff City

**Leeds United fans were left lauding Patrick Bamford after his performance in the 3-3 draw against Cardiff City at the weekend.**

Bamford scored a brace as he continued his good run of form in the Championship, notching up his fifth goal in just his seventh appearance [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/leistungsdaten/spieler/183334).

However, his overall performance against the Bluebirds shows why Marcelo Bielsa is keen to stick with him as his frontman.

The 26-year-old was in brilliant form for the Whites, scoring with both his shots on target, making one clearance and blocking one shot [(via WhoScored)](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381624/LiveStatistics/England-Championship-2019-2020-Leeds-Cardiff).

Bamford’s consistent starting role has left fellow strike partner Eddie Nketiah frustrated with the Arsenal loanee yet to start a Championship game for the Whites.

Fans were left lavishing Bamford with praise after he scored a brace for the first time since the game away to Wigan Athletic earlier this season.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:

> Bamford’s better than Eddie in buildup & ball retention, but to focus on that is wrong. Eddie gave us a man advantage.
>
> Now, that extra man wouldn’t make a difference when they had the ball as they were going route 1, but when we had it, it should’ve been much easier to keep it.
