# Leeds United: Fans blast the EFL after Patrick Bamford as goal taken away

**Leeds United have been blasting the EFL after they awarded the club’s second goal in their win against Luton Town as an own goal to Matt Pearson.**

After a cross from Mateusz Klich, Bamford got a touch on the ball before Pearson turned the ball into his own net past James Shea [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50442699).

Despite having the goal taken away from him, the 26-year-old continued his good run of form for the Whites having scored a goal and assisted another in the 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/leistungsdaten/spieler/183334).

The win extended the club’s winning run in the Championship to six games with Marcelo Bielsa’s side sitting second, two points off top-of-the-table West Bromwich Albion.

Fans couldn’t believe the goal was taken off Bamford as they took to Twitter to lambast the EFL for the announcement of their decision.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
