# Leeds United: Fans buzz over Luke Ayling Player of the Month award

**Responding to an update by Leeds United’s [official club account](https://twitter.com/LUFC/status/1237694787270193153), many Whites supporters have been gushing over Luke Ayling’s Player of the Month award for February – describing the defender as a ‘[baller](https://twitter.com/Mike_Cook_86/status/1237696023641849859)‘ and claiming he ‘[deserves to win a Ballon d’Or](https://twitter.com/MrLukeyGeorge/status/1237695910450286598)‘.**

Ayling, who has started 27 Championship games this season for the Whites, won the February Player of the Month accolade with [51%](https://twitter.com/LUFC/status/1237694787270193153) of the vote according to Leeds United’s official account – perhaps highlighting his stellar last few outings under Marcelo Bielsa. The Englishman has accumulated the joint-third highest amount of tackles on average this season compared to the rest of the squad (2), all the while notching four goals and three assists from the right-back position ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds)).

Ayling also opened the scoring with a superb goal during the Whites’ [2-0 win](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GDYub2KMVs&feature=onebox) over Huddersfield Town – highlighting his influential presence in the side. As a result, many supporters have flocked to praise the fan favourite on Twitter – here’s what they had to say.
