# Leeds United: Fans in disarray after Whites surrender a three-goal lead

**Leeds United fans were in disarray after the Whites surrendered a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 against Cardiff City at the weekend.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”267473″\]

Marcelo Bielsa’s side seemed to be cruising after goals from Helder Costa and Patrick Bamford (2) saw them lead by three-goals after just 52 minutes [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228)

[Costa](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228) opened the scoring in just the sixth minute of the game with [Bamford](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228) adding a second just two minutes later following a cross from [Stuart Dallas](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228).

The 26-year-old then made it 3-0 when he converted a penalty after he was brought down by ‘keeper [Neil Ethridge](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228).

However, the game was turned on its head when goals from [Lee Tomlin, Sean Morrison and Robert Glatzel](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228) saw the Bluebirds rescue a point at Elland Road.

The fightback saw [Bielsa](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50696228) make a shocking admission with regards to his side’s preparation for the game as he claimed they didn’t work on nullifying Cardiff’s strengths despite knowing about them.

Fans were bemoaning the dropped points as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:

> Bottlers United are back! Just in time for the New Year meltdown. Buy some backup ffs.
