# Leeds United: Fans in disbelief after Jon Bon Jovi backs Patrick Bamford

**Some Leeds United fans couldn’t believe what they were hearing when Jon Bon Jovi gave his backing to Patrick Bamford to start scoring again.**

In an interview on [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1582696800/1582707600/), the rock star gave the under-fire striker his support, claiming the player was ‘great’ and also commented on their unlikely friendship due to [Bamford’s love of Bon Jovi](https://twitter.com/Patrick_Bamford/status/1232616678581788674). He’s endured a tough time this campaign, having gone on a run of no goals in 10 Championship games stretching from August right through to November [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/leistungsdaten/spieler/183334).

Despite his poor displays, he has been backed by head coach Marcelo Bielsa, who launched a staunch defence of his frontman. The Argentine pointed out the Englishman’s contribution to the team’s football and said the entire forward line have opportunities to score [(via Leeds Live)](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/marcelo-bielsa-addresses-patrick-bamford-17797894). These Leeds fans couldn’t believe what they heard as they reacted to the singer’s comments. Here are a selection of tweets:
