The Leeds-born ace was at the heart of the action for his side as he won an eye-opening nine tackles during the game, the most of any player on the pitch [(via LUFC Data)](https://twitter.com/LUFCDATA/status/1214306661940248577).

However, his overall performance wasn’t just limited to him sitting in front of his back-four, also going on to show his attacking quality.

Phillips played the joint-most key passes (4) and more than 50% (24/40) of his passes forward as the Whites had their fair share of attacking threat.

Following the performance, the 24-year-old spoke about how the club had ‘fulfilled’ their aim of putting in a ‘fine performance’ at the Emirates Stadium [(via Yorkshire Evening Post)](https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/latest-leeds-united-news/kalvin-phillips-reflects-leeds-uniteds-display-mission-accomplished-arsenal-despite-unlucky-exit-fa-cup-1356976).

Fans were lavishing the ace with praise following his outstanding performance against the Gunners as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:

> Ben White, a kid who never played a second of even championship football, is back pocketing Lacazette, a World Cup winner. Kalvin Phillips, a kid who wasn’t good enough for a mid table Leeds team 3 seasons ago, is back pocketing Mesut Özil, a World Cup and Champions League winner
