# Leeds United: Fans pleased after Marcelo Bielsa’s injury update on Kiko Casilla

**Many Leeds United fans are pleased after Marcelo Bielsa gave an injury update on one of his first team regulars ahead of tonight’s clash against Middlesbrough.**

In his pre-match press conference, the Argentine revealed that Kiko Casilla has a problem with his hand and an appearance at the Riverside Stadium is dependent on how much pain he feels [(via LUFC)](https://twitter.com/LUFC/status/1232283888141119489). The Spaniard has been in poor form in recent weeks and has been directly at fault for goals conceded against [Wigan Athletic](https://www.footballfancast.com/championship/leeds/leeds-fans-reaction-kiko-casilla-wigan-defeat) and [Nottingham Forest](https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-player-slammed-by-pundit/).

One fan called it ‘great news’.

However, despite the question marks over the former Real Madrid ‘keeper, he has been an ever-present under the former Marseille coach, having featured in every single Championship game so far this season [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kiko-casilla/leistungsdaten/spieler/27486). The head coach’s comments about Casilla’s fitness has sparked interest from supporters, who called for the Ligue 2 loanee Illan Meslier to be given an opportunity. Here are a selection of tweets:

> If Kiko Casilla isn’t fit for tomorrow nights game then he shouldn’t play, he could make mistakes.. Give Illan Meslier a chance👍[#lufc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/lufc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#mot](https://twitter.com/hashtag/mot?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
