# Leeds United: Fans purr over Ben White on social media

**Some Leeds United fans have been full of praise for 22-year-old centre-back Ben White on social media lately, with [one Whites supporter referring to the defender](https://twitter.com/conormccrory/status/1246750039378182144?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) as an “England CB in the making”.**

Championship-focused Twitter account @TheSecondTier [recently posted a tweet](https://twitter.com/TheSecondTier/status/1246745172756619268?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1246745172756619268&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.footballtransfertavern.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost-new.php) asking their followers to name the Championship’s “best player aged 22 or under”. Many Leeds fans subsequently flocked to this tweet to share praise for their on-loan centre-back White.

White, who joined Leeds [on loan from Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-white/transfers/spieler/335721) on the first of July 2019, has [featured in all 37](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322036/Show/Ben-White) of the current [Championship leaders](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/championship/table)’ fixtures thus far during the 2019/20 campaign.

In addition to that, the 22-year-old centre-back has played a [higher number of minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/leistungsdaten/verein/399) for the Whites in all competitions this season than any other Leeds player, [accumulating a total of 3,554 minutes of game time this term](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/leistungsdaten/verein/399), according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

This may show that White has played a significant role for Leeds United this season. Furthermore, the defender has earned an [average overall rating of 7.05](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322036/Show/Ben-White) this term from his 37 Championship appearances according to WhoScored.com, making him the club’s [fifth-highest rated player](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds) this season.

His high number of minutes played this season, in addition to his impressive average overall rating, may indicate that White has played a significant role for the current Championship leaders this season. As a result, it may not come as a huge surprise that many Leeds fans have been declaring him one of the Championship’s best players “aged 22 or under”, in response to @TheSecondTier’s recent tweet.
