# Leeds United: Fans react to Peacocks with the most amount of red cards in the club’s history

**A number of Leeds players have picked up their fair share of red cards over the years, and supporters have been discussing some of the biggest culprits, after [Graham Smyth](https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/leeds-united-bad-boys-hot-heads-and-tough-tacklers-10-most-red-carded-whites-club-history-2553639?page=2) revealed the top 10 list of stars sent to the sin bin via** [**@LUFCDATA.**](https://twitter.com/LUFCDATA)

Club captain Liam Cooper opens up the rankings as the 28-year-old was first sent off during [the embarrassing FA Cup defeat](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/liam-cooper-reveals-main-man-20046924) against Sutton United in 2017.

Several of his teammates under Marcelo Bielsa also prominently feature, with Kalvin Phillips receiving four reds throughout his time at his boyhood club, and veteran defender Gaetano Berardi, who has racked up the most amount of red cards in the club’s history with a tally of 8 at the time of writing.

However, there is a caveat to the 31-year-old’s status, considering his eighth booking at Millwall was [overturned](https://talksport.com/football/efl/612994/leeds-gaetano-berardi-wins-appeal-against-red-card-millwall/) earlier this season.

Remarkably, the likes of ‘Bite Yer Legs’ Norman Hunter and notorious bad boy Vinnie Jones didn’t even make the shortlist.

Predictably, plenty of supporters took to social media to respond to [the Yorkshire Evening Post’s article](https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/leeds-united-bad-boys-hot-heads-and-tough-tacklers-10-most-red-carded-whites-club-history-2553639?page=2), with one fan praising “dirty Leeds,” and another adding it is a totally “different ball game” nowadays.

Take a look at some of the different reactions down below…

> Difficult to quantify this, Graham against the backdrop of far more tolerant refereeing in seasons past. The. 1970 Chelsea cup final replay in which there was just one yellow card waved has been analysed by one of today’s refs who reckoned 8 red cards. A different ball game!

> The great Norman Hunter, despite his fierce reputation only accounts for 2 of those.
