Leeds: Journalist shares further Charles De Ketelaere update -Leeds United News

Leeds United are ‘confident’ they will sign Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere, according to Alfonso Leocadio.

The Lowdown: Leeds linked with De Ketelaere

The Whites have recently been heavily linked with a move for the Belgium international as Victor Orta looks to bolster Jesse Marsch’s attacking ranks.

Phil Hay has claimed that Leeds are in the running to sign the 21-year-old, who they view as an inside forward or a secondary forward who could support Patrick Bamford.

Reports elsewhere have claimed that the Premier League club are willing to pay Club Brugge’s €40m (£34.7m) asking price but could go in with a lower opening proposal, and it seems as if a bid is on the way.

The Latest: Leocadio’s update

Leocadio, a transfer market writer who is followed by reliable figures from Sky Sports and The Athletic, took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to provide numerous Leeds transfer updates on Mohamed Camara, Tyler Adams and De Ketelaere.

The journalist stated that a bid for the Belgian ‘is expected in the next few days’, with ‘Leeds confident’ that they can sign him ahead of AC Milan and Leicester City, in what comes as an extremely exciting update for the Elland Road faithful.

The Verdict: Fingers crossed

Belgian journalist Sven Claes said (via The Athletic) that De Ketelaere’s best role may be as a number eight or number 10 and described the youngster as ‘phenomenal’.

The 21-year-old appears to be a hugely exciting talent and has just come off the back of a very impressive campaign in which he contributed to 28 goals in 49 games.

Elland Road Leeds United

Leeds fans, do you remember who scored your first goal of the 21/22 season?

The 6 foot 3 attacker now looks ready for a new challenge and could fit perfectly into Marsch’s plans, as he can line out anywhere in attack or even in midfield.

It looks as if there could be developments on a move for De Ketelaere in the coming days, so hopefully Leeds can make further progress and persuade the player to move to Yorkshire after initially being told ‘no’.
