Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has said he will delete his Twitter account if they lose to Leeds United on Friday night.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have started the season in good form, having gained promotion to the Premier League this year. A run of three unbeaten games was sandwiched in between the opening day defeat to Liverpool and Monday’s defeat to Wolves.
Friday’s game promises an intriguing tie between two teams who have scored 21 league goals between them so far this term.
What has Agbonlahor said prior to the game?
The former Villa striker, who has already been vocal about Friday’s game against Leeds, is covering the match for Sky Sports Box Office and, in response to one fan, has handed himself a forfeit depending on the outcome.
😂😂😂😂I need a villa win or I’m deactivating 😂
— Gabriel Agbonlahor (@officialga11) October 21, 2020
Agbonlahor’s social media post could add intrigue to what is set to be a compelling clash, with both Leeds and Villa hoping to re-establish themselves at this level after recent promotions.
Who are favourites, Villa or Leeds?
Despite Leeds’ good start to the season, Villa may be considered favourites for this one, especially with home advantage.
Dean Smith’s side have been excellent thus far and they will be hoping that continues against a team with whom a rivalry has developed following a controversial clash between the sides in the run-in to the 2018/19 Championship season.
A win for Leeds would, for Whites fans, come with the bonus of seeing Agbonlahor deactivating his account, but Bielsa’s players will simply be keen to bounce back after the defeat to Wolves.
